Down Terrace @Flatpack Fest

A real discovery, this English black humorous dramatic crime film by Ben Wheatley made me laugh, feel betrayed, and disgust all in 89 mins. The story of relationship between family members and friends, tea drinking, drug taking/dealing and killing in Sussex is spiced-up with plenty of folk music in order to accentuate the way in which things carry on from generation to generation.

Great result for a film which was shot in 8 days with friends and family. Admittedly, the explanations which were given by the director after the film made me feel a bit more at ease about the context of the film whose name derived from it main location which is the somewhat claustrophobic house of the Hill family (also in real life) who star in the film.
